Crew Member / Laborer (Full‑time, Year‑Round)

Join GKM as an entry-level Crew Member to perform hands-on landscape maintenance and installation. This is a year‑round position — winter duties include snow/ice response when needed. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Mow, edge, blow, and perform turf maintenance.

  • Trim shrubs, prune, weed, and perform bed clean-ups and mulching.

  • Assist with planting, sod/seed installation, and landscape installations.

  • Operate hand and power tools safely (weedwacker, blower, edger, etc.).

  • Load/unload materials, move soil, mulch, stone, and other materials.

  • Help with snow removal and de‑icing operations in winter (as scheduled).

  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and report maintenance needs.

  • Follow crew leader instructions and represent the company professionally with customers.

Qualifications and Traits

  • Reliable transportation to job sites.

  • Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, stand, walk, bend, and work in all weather conditions.

  • Trustworthy, coachable, hard‑working, punctual, and team‑oriented.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and wear PPE.

  • Willingness to learn equipment operation and landscape techniques.

  • Valid driver’s license preferred (mention if a company vehicle/driver requirements apply during interview).

Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits

  • Full‑time, year‑round manual labor position; typical days are 10–12 hours (overtime paid). Saturday work and on‑call winter shifts as scheduled.

Crew Leader (Full‑time, Year‑Round)

Join GKM in a year-round supervisory role. You will lead and coordinate a small field crew to deliver high‑quality landscape maintenance and installation work for residential and commercial clients. Winter duties include snow/ice response as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise 2–6 crew members daily: assign tasks, monitor quality, and ensure safety.

  • Plan and execute daily route/job tasks to meet customer expectations and schedules.

  • Operate and maintain landscape equipment (mowers, blowers, skid steer, etc.) and train crew in safe use.

  • Perform hands‑on landscape tasks as needed (mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, hardscape assist).

  • Communicate directly with clients on site to resolve issues and represent the company professionally.

  • Complete basic documentation: work logs, timecards, and job checklists; report supply/equipment needs.

  • Lead snow/ice response crews and oversee de‑icing/plowing operations when required.

Qualifications and Traits

  • 2+ years of commercial or residential landscape experience required; previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong equipment operation skills (walk‑behind & stand‑on mowers, trimmers, small loaders).

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL or ability to tow trailers preferred.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer‑service skills.

  • Reliable transportation, punctuality, and professionalism.

  • Same heavy physical & safety demands as Crew Member, plus responsibility for crew safety and jobsite hazard recognition.

  • Must be coachable and committed to developing crew members; values safety, quality, and employee well‑being consistent with company standards.
